Each year since 1998, Oakham In Bloom have entered the town into the East Midlands In Bloom competition and each time Oakham has been placed first or second!

Success in East Midlands In Bloom means an opportunity to compete in Britain In Bloom and the town has achieved great success here too, the best year being 2007 when it won first place.

Oakham In Bloom is keen to involve all the community in its own local awards - categories including front gardens, secret gardens, business premises, licensed premises and best on judging route are judged in the summer, with presentations made at our AGM each September - it has been known to get very competitive!

Local projects have also achieved success in the regional awards, with Rutland County Museum and The Woodland Trust winning special judges’ awards in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
